Mark Turkel, CEO and Senior Software Architect
I have been developing software since 1984. My first programs were written to "assist" me with my homework in college. I was studying electronics engineering and technology...needless to say, there was a LOT of math involved, which took a lot of time away from my "play time". A good friend of mine (Tom) somehow acquired a Commodore 64 with a cassette tape drive and we thought we could learn to write little programs that could solve our equations (homework).
I then bought a book on Commodore Basic and wrote my first program: HELLO WORLD. That's it - it printed HELLO WORLD on the screen and I made it happen. Next I "modified" it to say "HELLO MARK", and then made it ask for values, and I printed out my first calculation: A B = C I ended up learning BASIC by writing functions to do my homework. I ended up learning about electronics by teaching the computer how to do my homework.
17 years later, I am still in love with creating software. I love my business and my job, and it shows in my final product.
